internationalspainThis weekend is Ferias, a three-day event that celebrates Salamanca. It kicked off last night with a parade and an incredible fireworks show over Rio Tormes, followed by a concert in Plaza Mayor. The entire town comes out to celebrate, and the energy is contagious. I've only been here for five days, and even I felt like I was part of the town and its history. We didn't have class today in honor of Ferias, and most businesses are closed this weekend for the holiday. The festivities will continue until Sunday night; when in Salamanca, do as the Salmantinos do!
